Overview
My time with AMC Networks involved major enhancements to their growing platform. These enhancements contributed to 12 million user subscription and a refined streaming service housing multiple networks of various categories.
Project
Electronic Programming Guide
EPG was an enhancement initiative that would change the overall experience of Live TV. I worked through this project with a Sr designer assigned to the Shudder network integration. My contribution led to revamping the AMC+ live page. New components for the Mosaic design system to include a guide allowing users to navigate current and future records to AMC+ live content. This promoted content available by our video on demand library and special seasonal content advertised and encouraged by our marketing department.
Competitive analysis

Observing the market, I took note of features from competing services like Hulu and Peacock to identify common experiences to live streaming. I took note of similar interactions aimed to keep users from exiting the live playback while browsing records. The EPG component was geared more towards being more informative tool than interruptive as it functioned dynamically to a concurring player.
Responsive Design

Most of my contributions applied toward the web experience. Collaborating with my peer we iterated several comps taking into consideration scalability between viewports and keeping core patterns across applications.

Solving Problems
I solved problems related to scalability with components and responsive design by curating a stacked layout for the live experience and EPG. I also leveraged the use of modal cards as its functionality already existed in our developers libraries and made for a more seamless implementation for our tech team. Although we explored various alternatives that favored visual aesthetics. This process that taught me more about tech restraints and designing for efficiency in an agile environment.
Iterations

Reflection
This captures one of many assignments I've contributed for AMC Networks. Working for this organization has aided my design thinking to becoming more efficient. I learned a lot about scalability across devices from mobile to OTT and have developed a stronger passion in the world of product design.
